Economic Security Working Group
The Economic Security Working Group is a forum for state legislators who are advancing and defending workplace-based policies to build economic security and strengthen the middle class. We recognize the crucial role states play in driving national policy trends and debates on working families’ issues. The working group provides legislators access to real-time information on state and national trends, the latest policy research and analysis, and effective communications strategies. We devote particular attention to workplace standards that ensure all workers can meet a basic spending level to support their families, such as the minimum wage, paid sick and family leave, retirement security, and policies and practices that ensure these standards are upheld. To that end, the working group includes task forces on Income Security and Work-Family Balance policies, through which legislators can delve into policy specifics in greater depth.
