With enrollment in health insurance marketplaces set to begin in October, Progressive States Network and The Commonwealth Fund will engage state legislators in a timely forum on the critical next steps in implementation of the Affordable Care Act. We'll dive deep on the timetable for states in the coming months, how legislators can help state marketplaces succeed, what states should consider when deciding whether or not to adopt a basic health plan, and much more.
All legislators -- even those who don't work directly on health care issues -- are welcome.
Joining us will be leading lawmakers and experts including:
- Washington Senator Karen Keiser (Chair, Working Group of State Legislators for Health Reform)
- Susan Mottet (Legislative Director, Progressive States Network)
- Speakers from The Commonwealth Fund and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
(Supported by The Commonwealth Fund, a national, private foundation based in New York City that supports independent research on health care issues and makes grants to improve health care practice and policy.)
